Members of Rotaract based at Stamford International University, along with a university staff support team, have carried out a sustainability project at the Ban Nong Phai school, located near to the Pranburi Dam, with school director Khun Soonthorn Sookwangsai, his staff and pupils making everyone welcome.
Their project involved preparing beds to grow vegetables, purchasing soil and plants to be planted and providing nutrients to grow the plants. All of these items were purchased by the Rotaract Club of Stamford International University.
Instruction was given on the way to grow vegetables in the most sustainable way with the young school children understanding how growing these vegetables can help both the nutritional needs and budget of their families.
In addition, activities were run by the Rotaractors during the day, including games and musical entertainment.
The Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin provided lunch for the project and club members supported the event both in getting their hands dirty helping in the garden, the games and serving lunch (after washing their hands).
