In recent times, especially in the post-Covid era, Hua Don Beach Khao Tabiab has emerged as a favoured location for many outdoor events.
They have included markets (the last Hua Hin Food Festival), sporting carnivals (3 on 3 basketball), concerts and displays of all types. The latest event being ‘Cruise Days’, that was all about exotic modified vehicles, vintage cars, classic cars, American muscle cars and cool custom motorcycles.
There’s also been less prominent happenings such as touch rugby on the beach and other community recreational activities, it really has become a favourite outdoor venue.
The change in focus has followed the demise of the Hua Hin-Pattaya ferry port. There’s both a hard-stand for some displays and stands that need a solid surface, but also expensive beach sands with room for stages and for concert goers to relax and enjoy both the entertainment and the ocean breezes.
On one hand the proximity to downtown Hua Hin is a big plus, however access via the narrow road passing through Khao Takiab can be congested and the final entry road isn’t very user-friendly.
Parking is also in need of an overhaul and many prefer to park away from the location and take some form of public transport when heading for a big event.
