As part of its Destination Charger Phase 1 network, Porsche Thailand plans to build DC high-power EV chargers around the country this year in an effort to increase the number of Porsche customers driving electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. However not only Porsche drivers but any EV in Thailand that should be compatible with the Mennekes Type 2 AC connector.
After first introducing the Destination Charger concept back in 2020, Porsche received excellent response from Porsche EV users as well as EV users from other brands. Because of this, they have continued to expand the charging infrastructure and refine their environmental campaign.
Porsche has collaborated with its partner to open four new charging facilities in Bangkok community malls — La Villa Aree, Ekamai Power Center, Marketplace Krungthep Kreetha and J Avenue Thong Lor — in order to encourage people to use EVs and PHEVs. The four stations represent the first phase of the project, while the second phase will see another eight charging stations being built around the country.

The Standard Resort in Hua Hin already has a four-bay Porshe Charger Station, located at the entry to the resort carpark. It is understood that restaurant patrons can avail themselves of a free charge; perhaps as a very pleasant way to enjoy the charging time.
DC is the fastest way to charge an electric vehicle because it is carried out directly from the charging head to the battery. The battery can then be charged from 10-80% within just half an hour.
