BIG PRANBURI HOSPITAL EXPANSION UNDERWAY

Pranburi Hospital has long been inadequate to manage the health needs of the community with a growing population and increase in tourism in next years.

The hospital extension budget has been achieved through fundraising initiatives and donations from community organisations and the private sector apart from individual contributions.

BIG PRANBURI HOSPITAL EXPANSION UNDERWAY

Pranburi Hospital was built on an area of approximately 49.3 rai and opened as a 10-bed community hospital in December 1986.  Under the management of Dr. Prasong Panpraisol, the first Director, in 1995 it was upgraded to a 30-bed community hospital with two double storey buildings.

Pranburi Hospital has specialists in surgery and in the future there will be a doctor specialising in pediatrics. There are 116 medical and multi-disciplinary personnel, 196 support personnel.

At present, there are an average of 500 patients per day, necessitating the expansion with a five story building to be completed with a budget of 141,002,000 THB.

The new building will consist of three storey outpatient clinic and a two storey office building.  The modern facility will reduce congestion and the need for patients to travel to other districts for treatment.

Mr. Sathien Chareonnun said he would like to commend Pranburi Hospital and the Provincial Public Health Office for caring for patients during the COVID-19 outbreak and the dedication of medical staff during difficult circumstances.
