There’s always been good reasons why the Hin Lek Fai viewpoint to be included in the itinerary of every visitor to Hua Hin, yet somehow it often doesn’t feature in the recommendations of travel promotions or be given that deserved recognition.

Visitors really shouldn’t overlook Khao Hin Lek Fai as a ‘must see’ local attraction although many ‘don’t see’!  Not only the weekend visitor or holiday maker, but many people who have spent years living in Hua Hin have only looked up at the hill, rather down over the panoramic landscape and ‘cityscape’ below.

But there’s been a history of neglect of visitor facilities and some issues related to a an often uncontrolled pesky monkey population.  We’ve also seen proposals for ‘Hollywood-style’ signage on the side of the hill; hopefully never to appear.

The most recent proposal to upgrade the attraction is for a Sky Walk.  Such projects with a see-through glass walkway have proved to be a big hit worldwide, including in Thailand.

An artist’s impression has been released of the proposed Sky Walk, now being promoted by city mayor Nopporn Wutthikul, although the significant costs involved means that more research into the project is still needed before a budget allocation and the proposal becomes a reality.

Hua Hin residents have yet to voice their opinion of the value of such a project, your thoughts would be welcome.  The link below shows what is currently on offer.
