MAJOR UPGRADE FOR THE CHA-AM/HUA HIN BYPASS ROAD (HIGHWAY 37)

The Department of Highways has held a public meeting to listen to opinions about big changes planned to improve traffic conditions on Highway 37, the main highway bypassing Cha-Am and Hua Hin for traffic heading north-south.

MAJOR UPGRADE FOR THE CHA-AM/HUA HIN BYPASS ROAD (HIGHWAY 37)

A budget of 7,000 million THB has been allocated for the project aiming for completion in in 2026.

Survey and design details were revealed in developing the route to be more convenient and safe to overcome travel delays, especially during rush periods such as Songkran and the New Year.

The project covers a distance of 47 kilometres in both Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan provinces with plans to modify the highway from 4 lanes to 6 lanes with intersection design changes, underpasses, roundabouts U-turn designs.

The construction period takes 3 years. It is expected that the construction will begin in 2023 and will be completed around 2026.
