RESTAURANTS IN SINGAPORE SUFFER AFTER STRICT REOPENING AND THEN RE-LOCKDOWN

In the last 60 days, restaurants in Singapore went from prohibiting dine-in to only two people per table allowed, to five vaccinated customers, and back to no dine-in again.

The latest restriction starts today, July 22 until August 18 as the Covid-19 cases heightens recently.”Opening a restaurant is difficult and requires projection and experience, but in this environment, we don’t even know what the projections are for next week,” says Chef-partner Remy Lefebvre of the Casa Restaurant.

“Moving from a lockdown into a strange one-month opening, and now to another lockdown, our finances are really affected and the mental health of our team has been really affected too,” added Remy.

As most of the restaurants do since the height of the pandemic, Casa Restaurant is now relying on its upcoming online gourmet shop with pre-cooked dishes, brunch packages and various pantry products.
