FACEMASK NON-COMPLIANCE PENALTIES NOW OFFICIAL

The Government Gazette website has published regulations of the National Communicable Disease Committee on the offences in violation or non-compliance with the order of the Communicable Disease Control Officer under Section 34 (6) of the Communicable Disease Act B.E. 2558 in relation to wearing face masks.

By specifying preventive measures to control COVID-19, the most important thing is for people to wear masks or cloth masks. to reduce the risk of infection and prevent unhygienic conditions and limiting the spread of COVID-19

The announcement aims to be fair and not burden the people unduly and to ensure the duties of communicable disease control officers is effective.

In cases of violation or failure to comply with a specific order without a reasonable cause or the emergency declaration has been canceled according to the Royal Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situations B.E. 2548, the regulations are as follows.

For the first time, a fine will be not more than 1,000 baht, for the second offence, a fine of more than 1,000 baht but not more than 10,000 baht, and the third time onwards, a fine of more than 10,000 baht but not more than 20,000 baht.
