Tripadvisor has introduced their Traveller’s Choice Awards 2021 by stating “travel in 2020 looked different, to say the least. We stayed a little closer to home, hit the open road, took to the great outdoors, and saw our own hometowns in a new light. And millions of travellers everywhere shared reviews and opinions based on those places and moments that left an impression.”

The Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2021 ‘Best of the Best’ list is said to be drawn from the experiences of the best experts possible: real travellers who’ve been there before.

The list includes the most popular, most loved destinations, hotels, restaurants, things to do, and beyond.  The full list can be seen at https://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/TravelersChoice

According to the most popular destinations in the world; perhaps now on many travellers’ wish-lists until restrictions are withdrawn, Bangkok has been listed as number eight.

Phuket came in as number 14; not bad considering some of the world’s most iconic tourism destinations, including New York, Sydney and Rio didn’t make the top ten!

Here’s the Tripadvisor 2021 ‘BEST OF THE BEST ‘ top ten world destinations

1. Bali, Indonesia

2. London, United Kingdom

3. Dubai, United Arab Emirates

4. Rome, Italy

5. Paris, France

6. Hanoi, Vietnam

7. Crete, Greece

8. Bangkok, Thailand

“Bangkok is full of exquisitely decorated Buddhist temples—as you go from one to the next you’ll be continually blown away by the craftsmanship and elaborate details. But if you’d rather seek enlightenment in a gourmet meal, or dance the night away, you’ll also enjoy Bangkok—the restaurant and nightclub scenes here are among the best in the world.”

9. Barcelona, Spain

10. Istanbul, Turkey
