Dr. Khuharat, the Provincial Public Health head has held a press conference concerning two new covid infected people in Hua Hin. He said they had travelled from Nonthaburi to visit relatives at home in the Phet Sa Sang community.
Background checks revealed that the now hospitalised patients had visited many places in Hua Hin. Public health staff have cleaned and disinfected the relevant areas and conducted tests on those in close contact with the patients. Five test have found three positive cases with two more awaiting results.
Three others who had visited the Maya pub were also tested positive and one more from the Ting Korea restaurant.
Anyone who had been to the Maya Pub 30th March or the Korean Ting restaurant on 1st April 2564 from 18.00-19.00 should report to the Hua Hin Hospital or a nursing facility near home for COVID 19 screening.
The Maya pub is now closed for 14 days to prevent the risk of spreading the disease with employees isolating themselves at home.
Health authorities say these cases show the importance of observing preventative measures, especially at pubs, bars, nightlife after finding this has been the source of COVID 19 outbreaks in many provinces.
Most recently 3 out of 4 new Covid-19 infections reported in the northern province of Chiang Mai are in patients who frequented nightlife venues in Bangkok.
