At 8:00 am on Monday April 5th , Police Lieutenant Colonel Naraphat Bunchai Suwan, investigating officer of the Hua Hin Police Station was notified by the Hua Hin Railway Station staff of the death on the special express train at the Hua Hin Railway Station.
The body of Mr. Ekasit Charoenphun, 38, of Nonthaburi province, was found lying dead on the train floor. A physical examination did not find any wounds and the ,man was estimated to have died about 1 hour earlier.
The body was taken to Hua Hin Hospital to investigate the cause amidst concerns from passengers fearing the death was related to a COVID-19 infection however that was not the cause of his death.
It is understood thathat the deceased man had travelled to Pattani for religious ceremonies and after the ceremony, they returned home to Nonthaburi Province by boarding the train. When the train arrived at the Hua Hin Railway Station his friends had left the train then returned to find Mr Eak lying on the floor.
Mr. Ekasit is understood to have had an underlying health condition with high blood pressure disease. After the symptoms began to worsen he decided to return home for treatment.
Dr. Nirun Chantrakul, director of Hua Hin Hospital, revealed after an autopsy, tests for COVID-19 were negative, and no COVID was found. The cause of death is expected to be due to the underlying condition.
However public health officials sprayed with disinfectant around the Hua Hin Railway Station to build confidence among passengers.
