
A fishing boat has been reported to have capsized in the Gulf of Thailand with five crew members rescued while the other four were still missing after initial rescue efforts.

On Saturday (20th February), the Emergency Notification Center 191 Phetchaburi was informed that a boat had capsized opposite Wat Bang Sai Yoi, Cha-Am District, Phetchaburi, about 17 nautical miles or about 30 kilometres from the coast.
It is a large fishing boat with a displacement of 40 tons. The name of the boat was given as Kor Chokchai Somboon 1 with nine crew members, five have been rescued, but four remain missing.

Rescue teams are accelerating search and rescue operations with Royal Thai Navy boats and aircraft being sent to the search area.
