Over 20,000 counterfeit fashion items including handbags, wallets, glasses, watches, scarves ripping off brands like Fendi, Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Coach, and more have been found in a warehouse in Bangkok.
The counterfeit items would retail in total for 100 million baht.
The operation monitored a large wholesaler that smuggled the products in through land border checkpoints and sold to local retailers in Thailand and online through Facebook.
The products were sold as fakes of AAA quality.
The Department of Special Investigation was involved in the bust. Thailand and the United States have trade agreements that put IP protection on high priority, as Thailand is on a watch list of countries where IP fraud is monitored.
