Chefs and cooks from the Hua Hin Grand and Plaza Hotel are adapting to the COVID-19 crisis by setting up a table street-side and selling affordable traditional Thai food every morning to help raise money for themselves and to help local people.
At the side of Phetchkasem Road in downtown Hua Hin, in front of Hua Hin Grand Hotel and Plaza, hotel employees are cooking breakfast with pork porridge, patongo and other dishes from the hotel’s traditional Thai recipes.
Local people who are workers, friends, hotel employees in the neighborhood or those who commute by motorcycle, stop by and support each other
Ms. Ketkanok Darawut Mapakorn, Accounting Manager of the Hua Hin Grand Hotel and Plaza said that bringing the chefs and cooks of the hotel to open a Thai breakfast shop is an adaptation to fight the COVID-19 crisis. Everyone has been affected, especially with the new outbreak worsening the tourism and hotel sector income.
The menu items have been chosen as familiar Thai breakfast food that are well known and very popular and very affordable with prices starting at 40 THB. Each menu item has carefully selected ingredients with hygiene according to the standards of the hotel.
The streetside restaurant is open from 5.30 until 9 AM.
