Police Colonel Paitool Promwriter, Superintendent of Hua Hin Police Station, has described the police investigations of cockfighting and gambling which have violated the order made to close such activities in accordance with the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Communicable Disease Committee’s measures as risky places for the spread of COVID-19.

At an open-air wooden building on Soi Hua Na 19, Nong Kae Sub-district of Hua Hin, gamblers were seen to be watching gamecocks fighting. When the police arrived they tried to run but the authorities apprehended 22 gamblers and seized gambling devices which were taken to the Hua Hin Police Station.
The police have charged those apprehended with Police Colonel Paitoul saying he had ordered the investigators to be wearing protective clothing. He hopes the arrest will deter others engaging is such risky behaviours and prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
