The Royal Coast doesn’t have any real surf to mention, but the surfing culture is alive and well on placid local waters with board activities such as stand-up paddle boarding or on land with a free skate board park to ride the slopes rather than the waves.
To celebrate this culture the Hua Hin Surf & Skate Jam has been staged both on the beach and at the skate park on Friday 20th November and Saturday 21st November.
The official opening on Friday of the Hua Hin Skate Park saw skating teams and some of Thailand’s best skate boarders presented demonstrations of tricks and skate boarding moves with lessons for beginners or those wanting to raise their standards at Hua Hin’s only skate boarding park.
All day Saturday on the waters of the Hua Don Beach there were be workshops, demonstrations and lessons for anyone to see and try Stand-up Paddle Boarding (SUP) and Skim Boarding
The event featured the latest equipment on the market with entertainment including D.J’s and prizes including domestic flights with AirAsia Airlines, tickets to the Vana Nan water park, a SUP board and skim board plus event t-shirts.
