Two major accidents have been reported during the early hours of Sunday (22nd November) with a double fatality in one case.

The fatal accident took place at around 1.30 Am in the Ban Lat District with a vehicle crashing after failing to take a bend and then being destroyed by fire.

Police and fire tenders attended the scene where a white Honda Accord sedan was in flames fatally trapping two men with a third person injured person thrown from the vehicle.

Rains and slippery roads were the precursors of a second crash at around 3:45 a.m. on Phetchakasim Road in the Hua Saphan sub-district where a ten-wheel parcel delivery truck overturned in the centre of the road, trapping the driver who suffered serious injuries.

The volunteer rescue team of the Sawang Sanphet Thammasathan Foundation needed to use cutting equipment during their 20 minute rescue of the 57 years old driver before he was immediately taken to hospital.
It appeared that the truck had crashed into the barrier in the middle of the road before overturning.
Police are continuing their investigations into both incidents with a warning of the dangers of all roads during the busy holiday weekend, especially if wet conditions increase potential hazards.
