A tourist has suffered serious facial injuries after falling from a banana boat during a ride off a Cha-Am beach.
It was reported that five tourists had been riding on the boat in shallow waters before one rider fell from the boat and then collapsed in the shallow water.

Bystanders were able to rescue the victim and were thanked by relatives for their quick actions, including providing transport to the Cha-Am Hospital.
It was speculated that the person, who required 15 stitches to damage near to socket, may have struck rocks in the shallow water when falling from the banana boat.
This has not been an isolated incident with at least one other person known to have suffered head injuries in similar circumstances.
