At the end of the Cha-Am fishing harbour pier stand a pair of giant squid. This is the landmark that the Sailing Club Hua Hin uses as the half way mark for a major summer racing event along the Royal Coast, the Giant Squid Race.
The Giant Squid Race is on Saturday 31st October when over 20 boats will set sail from the Sailing Club Hua Hin at 12 noon; a distance of around 10 kilometres each way.
On their return competitors and their supporters we will have a buffet, party and also join in Halloween and Loy Krathong celebrations as the full moon rise over the horizon.
It’s not too late to enter the race or just come and watch the boats finish at about 3pm and join the party as a spectator.
Sailing is a family sport at the Sailing Club Hua Hin. Principal Richard Vine is an experienced tutor who can arrange lessons to get anyone started with a fleet of lasers and optis at the Club available for all ages in a friendly and safe atmosphere.
