Warnings are being issued to members of the Phetchaburi province as rising waters in the Phetchaburi river pose dangers of severe flooding in a number of regions, including the city.
Meetings have been held with Mr. Natthawutphet Phetcharthon, the Deputy Governor of Phetchaburi and officials of the Irrigation Office establishing a command centre to consider responses to flooding and landslides in the province.
Ongoing heavy rain has led to the need to release water from the Phetchaburi dam into the lower reaches of the Phetchaburi River which may lead to overflows affecting local communities.
Warnings have been issued to transport the elderly and property to higher ground. Machinery and equipment used for flood mitigation has been deployed in preparation.
