Owing to the continuing rain, the Department of Disease Control has urged the public to be careful when driving. As the long holiday is approaching, many people tend to use public transportation and private cars to travel to other provinces to visit their hometown.
The public is advised to be prepared and rest well before traveling.
A report of road accidents from 1 January to 14 October 2020 showed that there have been 251,854 road accidents across the country with 760,295 persons injured, 1,901 disabled, and 11,695 dead.
The provinces that have the most accidents are Bangkok with 34,907 accidents and Chiang Mai with 10,287 accidents, while the provinces that have the most injured and dead are Bangkok, Chonburi, and Nakhon Ratchasima.
