The 10th ‘Hua Hin of Yesteryear’ will be a celebration of a royal heritage which usually coincides with the good times when HM King Rama IX would spend summer holidays with his family at his royal residence in Hua Hin.
That would usually be during April, but this year the event needed to be delayed. However, revealed at a press conference on Thursday, the event is now set to have a grand opening on Saturday 22nd August, then continuing until 31st August.
This year’s event not only celebrates those halcyon days of the 50’s (HM the King was married on 28 April 1950, a week before his coronation) but also the community’s renewal and continuing emergence from the CODID-19 lockdown as a follow up to the recent Hua Hin Food Festival.
Amongst a crowded program of entertainment, music and dining, expect to see the dress and fashions from yesteryear showcased with the scene set by a vintage car parade through the city streets from 4.30 PM on the opening day before taking pride of place at the 7 PM official opening.
Daytime activities will be mainly sporting and kid friendly in nature, then after sundown a more festive atmosphere takes over. One of the highlights will be a top shelf, but in-theme, fashion show on evening of Friday 28th August, starting at 5.30 PM.
