FATAL DRIVE-BY SHOOTING AT HUA HIN BAR

Hua Hin police are looking for a gunman and his accomplice who shot and killed a 23 year old woman at a bar on Soi 112 in Hua Hin on Thursday night.

The shooting took place around 10.30 at the Gig & Jay Bar with police saying the victim, identified as Miss Suthida, AKA Nong May, was hit in the neck after a shot was fired from the men on a motorbike carrying a sawn-off shotgun.

Witnesses told police the victim was sitting at the front of the bar using her mobile phone with her back to the street when the Honda PCX motorcycle  stopped  on the opposite side of the road before firing then fleeing the scene.

Investigators are examining CCTV footage to determine the escape route and are reported to be unsure if the victim was an intended target.

The shooting followed a fight at the bar last Saturday night when one of the owners held a birthday party an a dispute arose between two groups.  Locals have speculated this was the reason for the shooting with no other trouble at the bar since it opened last year.

The victim had just returned to her job about a month ago when it re-opened.  Her family has travelled to Hua Hin hoping for an early arrest.

The incident follows an unrelated double shooting on the Cha-Am beach last week which resulted in the arrest of the alleged perpetrator.
