Progress has been reported on the construction of seven expressway dual railroad routes with a total distance of 993 kilometres to enhance traveling and transportation via the rail system.
Currently, 2 routes have been completed, consisting of the 187 km dual railroad at Chira-Khon Kaen junction and the Chachoengsao-Khlong Sibao-Kaeng Khoi route with a distance of 106 km.
Under construction are five more routes including Nakhon Pathom – Hua Hin, 62.91% complete, Hua Hin – Prachuap Khiri Khan Double 90 km. 67.57% complete and Prachuap Khiri Khan – Chumphon, with a distance of 167 km and progress of 54.91%.
The report provided by the Phetchaburi PRD describes the projects to be expected for completion and open for service 2023-2024; somewhat later than earlier reports had indicated.
