
When one of the reigning icons of the world, Grammy award-winning opera Jose Carreras confirmed his one-time performance at the 21st Bangkok International Festival of Performing Arts and Music with Bangkok as the only South East Asian venue, you can be confident that will be will be a phenomenal event in the history of Bangkok’s only performing arts and music festival.
Add this to the famous and valued Chinese artist, Li Yugang, performing a magnificent musical drama and the performance by Chinese Academy Award-winning Ye Jintian with Bangkok chosen as the first city he will perform after the world premiere of Lady Zhaojun in Beijing before he performs at the Lincoln Centre in New York.

The Festival features a complete lineup of artists from the world of ballet, opera, dance, concert, symphony and acrobatics. Two ballets will be on the ice rink and the Kremlin Ballet Theater from the land of Russian toe dancing, present three performances.
You can also be taken to the Arabian world with One Thousand and One Nights or travel back in time to Victor Hugo ‘s literary tales in “Esmeralda”, also known as “the Hunchback of Notredam”, or the ballet icon in “Swan Lake”.

For opera lovers there will be the grandeur of “Turandot” or other live performances such as “Nessun Dorma” and the story of a little mermaid who wants to be transformed into a human when she finds love with the prince in “Rusalka” or the Golden Mask Award-winning opera Ekaterinburg.
Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo , an all-male ballet from New York adds a touch of comedy or Cinderella and Swan Lake on ice with 35 champion skaters.

But there’s more; the hundred-year-old orchestra of Hungary, the Budapest Concerto Symphony Orchestra are included in this Festival with all branches of the performing arts and music represented in style and world renowned excellence.
The 21st Bangkok International Festival of Performing Arts and Music begins on September 11th until October 23rd.
