Who Really Are the Region’s Top Amateur Golfers?

That’s a question that a new event on our busy golfing calendar; the Evason Hua Hin Masters just might answer.  This will be an amateur event at two of our best golf courses; Springfield Royal Country Club and Banyan Golf Club.

Siam PGG’s Andy Harris is the event organiser and he says “There are many Amateur Golf Events held in Hua Hin annually.  None feature an amateur event at the two of the top courses for the top male and female amateur golfers in Thailand”.

Siam PGA Holidays are the founders and organisers of the most prestigious Amateur Pairs Event in Thailand – The InterContinental Pairs Classic.   They believe there is space for an outstanding amateur event for competitive low handicap and higher handicap golfers alike that will crown a Hua Hin Amateur Champion for both Men and Ladies.

The format will be 36 Holes stroke-play Gross and Net Championship.  There will be a men’s and ladies division with 18 holes at Springfield and Banyan GC on the weekend of October 5th and 6th  with practice rounds available on Friday an evening welcome reception and a prize giving luncheon after the second round.

Top Prizes include: 3 nights stay in Evason in Nha Trang, Vietnam & 2 Nights Pool Villa in Evason, Hua Hin.

It is anticipated that the event will  attract the best golfers not only from Hua Hin and the region but from other areas of Thailand and SE Asia.  The goal is to build it into a prestigious annual event much like the Intercon Pairs has become.

The main sponsor is the Evason Resort Hua Hin with stay and play packages for visiting golfers.  Evason General Manager Alan will also be a strong contender as the current Hyatt Open Champion.

Although visiting golfers are always welcome competitors to regional competition, our money is on locals taking the crown as the Evason Masters champions and a claim to be the Royal Coast’s top amateur golfers.
