Complaints have been made about the use of heavy machinery to clear the way for a road below the Khao Takiab Temple finishing at the viewpoint adjoining the Phra Yuen Hua Hin beach.

The complaints relate to environmental issues and encroachment on forestry department land.
As a result multiple agencies have been investigating leasing arrangements and the conditions of any such lease with a temporary halt on the work ordered.

Mr. Panlop Singhaseni, the Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province has attended the site with the involvement of the Provincial Natural Resources and Environment Office (TSO), the Hua Hin Municipality and the Department of Forestry.
It was found that a private company has leased the land from the Royal Forest Department, with an area of 32 rai, from February 21st 2017, with a lease until 20th February 2020. The legality of the lease is now being investigated together with any conditions related to the roadworks to address the environmental concerns
