Thai Meteorological Department Severe Weather Warning

Heavy rain and the strong wind waves are forecast for many Thai Provinces for the next few days including Prachuap Khiri Khan and Phetchaburi in a warning issued by the TMD.

During 25-27 June a monsoon trough will be across Myanmar, upper of the North, Laos and upper Vietnam.

The strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. More rain with isolated heavy rain is likely in the North, the Northeast, the Central, the East and the South.

People in the areas should beware the severe conditions that may cause flash flood.

The strong winds and waves are likely over the Andaman Sea 2-3 metres high and the Gulf about 2 metres high, above 3 metres high in thundershower areas.

All ships should proceed with caution, avoid passing near the thundershower areas and small boats keep ashore until 29 June 2019.

North: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Lamphun, Lampang, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Uttaradit and Phetchabun.

Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom and Chaiyaphum.

Central: Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Nakhon Sawan, Lop Buri, Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Prathom and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang.

On 27 June 2019
