Arrangements are being made to hold a tribute to King Rama X with a community fun run on HM the King’s birthday; 28th July.
The run will commence at 5 AM, starting and finishing outside the Klai Kangwon Palace. The palace is one of the quintessential landmarks of Hua Hin, as the summer residence of HM King Bhumibhol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and other members of the royal family. Klai Kang Won means ‘far from worries’,
The run will be both 5 and 10 kilometers in length and pass by many other landmarks around the city.
Unlike many promoted running events, this event has no commercial interests or costs for the runners. No prior registrations are required, although runners are asked to wear a yellow shirt which can be screen printed with the event logo (at no cost) from July 1st at Market Village.
Merit making and enjoying food provided by the municipality will an important part of the event which is intended to become an annual festival to mark HM The King’s birthday.
