The Airborne Division 5 has opened their museum with free admission until 12th May from 09.00-15.00 hrs.
The museum is within the Royal Thai Air Force Base at Ao Manao on the coast just south of Prachuap Khiri Khan city.
This is an opportunity to understand the history and battle when Thailand was invaded by Japan around 3 AM on the 8th December 1941.
The battle that followed in Prachuap Khiri Khan resulted in 38 dead and 27 wounded on the Thai side, while Japanese losses are estimated at at 217 dead and more than 300 wounded.
