DEAD BRUDA WHALE FOUND IN NORTHERN PHETCHABURI

The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources has been notified of the remains of a juvenile female Bruda whales found floating in the gulf near to the border of Phetchaburi and Samut Songkhram provinces.

The decomposing carcass had been brought to the beach by local fishing boats in the Ban Laem District of Phetchaburi.

By Wednesday (May 29th), Marine and Coastal Resource Management staff had begun to dissect the carcasses to determine the cause of death.

The whale is 10.5 metres in length, female and not mature.
